In every society, children are a vulnerable group. At the same time, children are the future and it is therefore important that they can develop into balanced and independent adults who can take good care of themselves and others. An important basis for this is a well-functioning family, where a child can bond and structure is provided and a child can by seeing positive examples to learn. Unfortunately, such a basis is not self-evident for all children. In Curaçao many children grow up in an incomplete or unsafe family situation. Research indicates that a replacement family is the most suitable solution for these children. Because Curaçao lacks professional foster care fundashon Gideon has developed a project plan to address this, together with partners in the field.
