IndigoBlue Consult carried out a cost price calculation of child care facilities on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sport.
The introduction of a legal framework for quality childcare in Curaçao has an effect on the cost price for childcare. Applying the quality requirements with regard to group size, space, pedagogical approach and training level of group leaders increases the costs. In order to gain insight into the real cost price linked to the minimum quality requirements, the ministry commissioned a cost price study. IndigoBlue has developed a measuring instrument to measure the extent to which the childcare centers meet the quality requirements and has determined a realistic cost price on the basis of a cost inventory.
