In collaboration with local partners, IndigoBlue conducted the GGZ-Carib study to map and strengthen primary mental health care systems in Curaçao and Bonaire.
The research explored how basic mental health care is currently provided, how users and providers experience it, and where improvements are most urgently needed. Through interviews, focus groups, and validation sessions, strategic priorities were identified for each island. The final report outlines practical action plans for 2025–2026 to improve access, coordination, and quality of care. The approach is rooted in local realities, emphasizing low-threshold support, networked care, and culturally appropriate solutions. To read the research report, click here.
